With Artist Eszter Rosta you will explore visible mending as a practice and extension of making, emphasizing repair as a creative method to repurpose, renew, and renew your well-loved items and accessories. In this one evening workshop, you will learn the basics of repairing your garments, including techniques such as patching, embroidering, weave darning, and the Japanese art of Sashiko. Following the movement against fast fashion and throw-away culture, learn the creative and sustainable practice of visible mending to emphasize repairs, while extending the life of your garments. EXPERIENCE This course is perfect for absolute beginners and those wanting a refresher on skills and techniques SUPPLIES Please note that sewing supplies and general tools are available for use, but you can bring your own items to mend and repair, as well as any matching thread or embroidery floss you would like.
