Upcycle & Reconstruct: Clothing & Fashion Workshop (Ages 13+)

Learn how to upcycle your garments during this hands-on workshop with Fashion & Textile Artist Maria Augusta. Over three sessions you will learn how garments are constructed by deconstructing and rebuilding clothing into original and custom pieces! You will have the opportunity to be a fashion designer as you explore silhouette, structure, and personal expression, breathing new life and excitement into older clothes and fabric scraps. Have fun creating a new garment or a hybrid piece with altered proportions. Try out fun styles like cropping, oversized looks, and asymmetrical angles as you re-purpose through embellishment, patchwork, and fit adjustments. EXPERIENCE This course is perfect for absolute beginners and those wanting a refresher on skills and techniques SUPPLIES Please bring in your own garments that you wish to upcycle and reconstruct. All sewing supplies, scrap fabric, and tools are included, but you are welcome to bring in your own fabric scraps if you have a colour or pattern/design you love!
