Open Wire Bronze Cuff Workshop (Ages 15+)

Make a lightweight open wire cuff in bronze during this beginner-friendly workshop with Carrie Carbol. Create your own unique bracelet as you learn basic metalsmithing techniques including soldering, annealing, hammer texture, sizing, forming and finishing. Come away with brand new metalsmithing skills or improved experience. This fun workshop is great to get a taste of metalsmithing, beginners are welcome, no experience is needed. All supplies are included, tools and equipment are available for communal use. EXPERIENCE This course is great for beginners and those with little to no experience. EXPERIENCE NOTE & DISCLAIMER Metalsmithing programs require the registered individual to have fine motor skills/dexterity and some physicality such as being able to saw metal, use hand tools, and soldering with open flame. Please contact us in advance if you or the registered individual are unable to do these tasks on their own and we will strive to find a solution as the instructor is unable to work one on one to do sawing, detail work, soldering tasks for individuals, but instead supports the entire class. Safety Notes Please bring a mask (N95 or dust mask) and ear protection. You may wish to bring an cotton apron or wear art making clothes. Additionally if you have your own eye protection if you already have a pair of safety glasses or goggles, if not eye protection will be assigned each class and will be disinfected before and after usage. SAFETY INFORMATION Please note that you will be working with metal, a torch, and a variety of tools.
