Finishing & Open Work Session for Metalsmithing (Ages 13+)

This finishing session is available to anyone who recently took a City Arts Centre Metalsmithing program and did not completely finish their project. Have the opportunity to register for a 1 session finishing class to finish your piece and receive assistance from Metalsmithing instructor Carrie Carbol. Bring along the unfinished project and any of your necessary supplies and have time and space to complete it so it will be ready to wear or use! Please note supplies will be included only to finish your project, but not to create a new project. If you were in a class were you had to purchase supplies please bring these as they will not be available for you otherwise. You will have access to all tools, equipment and consumables required to complete the unfinished project from the past program. EXPERIENCE: Please note this finishing session is only available to those who have taken a recent Metalsmithing class with the City of Edmonton. EXPERIENCE NOTE & DISCLAIMER Metalsmithing programs require the registered individual to have fine motor skills/dexterity and some physicality such as being able to saw metal, use hand tools, and soldering with open flame. Please contact us in advance if you or the registered individual are unable to do these tasks on their own and we will strive to find a solution as the instructor is unable to work one on one to do sawing, detail work, soldering tasks for individuals, but instead supports the entire class. Safety Notes Please bring a mask (N95 or dust mask) and ear protection. You may wish to bring an cotton apron or wear art making clothes. Additionally if you have your own eye protection if you already have a pair of safety glasses or goggles, if not eye protection will be assigned each class and will be disinfected before and after usage. SAFETY INFORMATION Please note that you will be working with metal, a torch, and a variety of tools.
